Superstar Prabhas-starrer Kalki 2898 AD was one of the most anticipated films of this year. It didn’t fail to disappoint its fans with the magnum-opus production and high-octane action sequences. Prabhas, as usual, played a powerful role, while Amitabh Bachchan emerged supreme in the duel of strength in the film. Kalki 2898 AD is directed by Nag Ashwin. This sci-fi film drew inspiration from Mahabharata and tried to highlight parallels with the legendary characters of the battle which includes Pandavas, Karna, Krishna and Ashwatthama. The film has minted over Rs 400 crore worldwide at the box office in nine days after its release. Kalki 2898 AD who is garnering praise from all over the world. But the film has now been harshly criticised by actor Mukesh Khanna. He called the film an incorrect representation of Mahabharata in his latest video and post on YouTube and Instagram.
Mukesh Khanna, who played the role of Shaktimaan during the 90s, is quite vocal with his opinions when it comes to mythology and other important issues in Bollywood. The actor and producer went with his staff to watch the film in the theatre. He came back and reviewed the film, listing its positive and negative points. Mukesh Khanna has shared a poster of the film on his Instagram story. All the star cast is visible in the poster. While sharing it, he wrote that the name of this film should have been ‘Kal Ki’ and not ‘Kalki’. Citing errors in the film, the actor said that originally, as per Mahabharata, Arjun and Bheem took out the ‘gem’ from Ashwatthama’s forehead and gave it to Draupadi. In the film, it was shown that Krishna plucked it from Ashwatthama’s head and later received it back. It was false, as per Mukesh Khanna.
“There are many more such wrong facts in the film. Why do these filmmakers dare to do this? Why doesn’t anyone stop them? Do they have only Hindu scriptures left for this?” wrote Mukesh Khanna, while taunting over the wrong interpretations of Mythological facts in recent films like Kalki 2898 AD and Adipurush.
