Shine Tom Chacko, Deepti Sati, and Aju Varghese starrer comedy film Thaanara has been in the spotlight for a long time. Many viewers were left disappointed with the film’s release date pushed forward to August 23. Recently, the makers have surprised the viewers and dropped their much-awaited teaser.
The teaser shows the film’s star cast rejoicing on a song playing on a gramophone. It then shows one of the actresses asking about the name written on the cake. The 1-minute 4-second teaser concludes without pointing toward anything conclusive about Thaanara’s storyline. Haridas has directed this film written by Raffi.
Social media users lauded the teaser and one of them pointed out that this film is a remake of the Marathi film Choricha Mamla. The cast and crew of Thaanara have not reverted to this comment. Priyadarshan Jadhav has written and directed Choricha Mamla and it received positive reviews from the audience.
Thaanara’s producers have not stated why the release was delayed. According to a report in the OTT play, this delay could be because of the mourning for the lives lost in the tragic Wayanad landslides. B K Harinarayanan wrote the lyrics and Gopi Sundar composed the music for the film. Vishnu Narayanan is in charge of the film’s cinematography.
The makers had unveiled Thaanara’s trailer on July 11, 2024.
Since the trailer release, the audience has been waiting for the film with great anticipation as it entertains the audience with interesting scenes. One of the users commented, “Shine Tom Chacko being Shine Tom Chacko in every movie…loading." Another one added, “Old days are coming back." “Waiting," commented the third user.
Shine Tom Chacko last acted in the Malayalam film Adios Amigo. Nahas Nazer directed this film penned by Aji Peter Thankam. Nishadh Yusuf was in charge of Adios Amigo’s editing. Jimshi Khalid was the cinematographer. This film starred Suraj Venjaramoodu, Asif Ali, Anagha LK, Ganapathi and others in important roles. It received mixed reviews from the audience. Some of the viewers pointed out the hilarious moments in the film. Others, however, criticised the Adios Amigo’s predictable screenplay.
