Pushpa 2 Star Fahadh Faasil Sparks Controversy, Says 'There's More to Do with Life Than Watching Films'

Fahadh Faasil has left fans divided with his recent statement about films. The ‘Pushpa The Rise’ actor opened up about cinema and said that he wishes people did not discuss actors and performances at dining tables. Allu Arjun’s co-star added that he wishes to change this approach. While a section of fans understood where FaFa was coming from, there is also a section of social media that was not impressed with Pushpa 2 star’s statement.

Speaking with Galatta Plus, the Aavesham actor said, “I don’t want people to talk about actors or performances on the dining table. Let them just discuss it in theatre or maybe on the way back home the drive. Not more than that. Cinema is not beyond that. Cinema has a limit and let’s just…”

When the host, Baradwaj Rangan, argued, “That’s not how a cinephiles operates,” Fahadh replied, “That’s what I want to change. I am not saying I want to change but there is more that you can do with your life than watching films.”

There’s no limit to cinema because it is a medium to achieve anything. Many also felt that he was addressing toxic fandoms. However, many fandoms, especially those that stem from the Telugu film industry were not on board with the comment.
