It stars Indrans, Durga Krishna and Dhyan Sreenivasan in lead roles. The film hit the theatres on May 20, 2022, and opened to mixed reviews. Now, the film has graced the OTT platform which means more viewership.
The Malayalam romantic thriller began streaming on Saina Play, an OTT platform that announced that they had acquired the digital rights to the film and began streaming it on January 5. As per reports, it is also available in selected regions on Amazon Prime. The film is about a housewife and a mother, Shyni, who is sick of the prevalent situation at her in-law’s home. When the nurse tending to Shyni’s mother-in-law leaves, she has to take over.
Her husband also lives away from work and her only respite in this tough time is her college friend, Kiran with whom she gets quite intimate. One night when Kiran is visiting her, things suddenly go out of control and tensions arise which thickens the plot. What will Shyni do in this situation?
As per reports, a Hindi remake of the Malayalam film Udal might be in the works. Reportedly, it will feature Naseeruddin Shah in the role played by Indrans in the original. The director of the original film, Ratheesh, is expected to helm the Bollywood remake as well. If the reports are anything to go by, the project might be bankrolled by Gokulam Gopalan, the producer of the original movie.
