Varun Dhawan is all set to make his OTT debut with Citadel Honey Bunny co-starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The series has grabbed headlines ever since its announcement, keeping fans on their toes. And now finally, the makers have unveiled the much-awaited teaser, along with the release date. At the grand launch event, Varun Dhawan revealed how Samantha Ruth Prabhu inspired him during the course of the shoot.
Varun Dhawan expressed, “Honestly, my preparation was very easy compared to Samantha’s. It’s public knowledge what she was battling when she joined the show. I thought my rehearsals were tough, but then I saw her incredible work ethic despite her struggles, and it truly inspired me. We became partners in making things happen.”
He added, “I’ve never been on a shoot or a creative process like that before, where I witnessed a co-actor going through such challenges. You learn a lot about human resilience and strength when you see someone battling something and still succeeding. Samantha inspired not just me, but also Raj, DK, Sita, and everyone at Amazon. Her dedication to this action show is truly inspirational.”
For the unversed, Samantha Ruth Prabhu revealed in 2022 that she had been diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called Myositis. The actress then took a break from films so that she could focus on her health. The actress has taken a step forward to spread awareness about the disease. She was also appointed as the brand ambassador for Myositis India last year.
Meanwhile, earlier this week, Citadel- Honey Bunny makers Raj & Dk took to their X handle, and announced a date with digits reading “01.08.” As soon as they shared the post, fans reacted. One of the fans wrote, “Honey Boney.” Another wrote, “Waiting.” Apart from Varun and Samantha, it stars Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Singh Parihar, Kashvi Majmundar, Saquib Saleem, and Sikandar Kher in pivotal roles.
Citadel: Honey Bunny has a riveting narrative that fuses the pulse-
pounding elements of a gritty spy action thriller with the heartwarming allure of a love story, all set against
the vibrant tapestry of the ’90s. The series is slated to stream from November 7.
