The Deadpool & Wolverine wave is truly taking over all fields. From fans going crazy to celebrities joining in on the madness of the MCU duo, the film is captivating everyone through its Marvel multiverse. The latest to jump on the bandwagon is the American rock band Green Day. Following the inclusion of their 1997 hit Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) in the film, the members are now acknowledging the moment with much delight. During Billie Joe Armstrong’s performance at Green Day’s Saviors tour on Monday night, his band members took up the opportunity to join him as Deadpool and Wolverine.
Billie Joe Armstrong was clearly caught off guard on the stage, as little did he know about their surprise plan. While he was performing in front of the audience at their New York show, drummer Tre Cool and bassist Mike Dirnt got onto the stage dressed as Marvel characters. In a video shared on the band’s social media handles, Armstrong could be seen trying hard to control his laugh to finish the song while his costumed bandmates continued to mess with him.
The best part comes at the very end, as once the song ends, Cool channels his inner Deadpool and yells, ‘Baby knife’, the character’s nickname for his small knife.

The gesture even left Ryan Reynolds amazed as the latter reshared the video on his Instagram. “I’m crying. I love you, @GreenDay. I can’t feel my life right now. #deadpoolandwolverine,” he wrote. Fans also praised the creative level of the band members, further voicing their love for the Marvel film. One wrote, “I love Ryan. I love Deadpool. I love Wolverine. And I love love love Green Day. This post is everything,” while another commented, “The “baby knife” in the end.”
“Honestly you didn’t even need to do any promotions lol everyone is doing it for you guys. I love it,” another comment read.
It is worth mentioning that Green Day’s Good Riddance song had a special part in Deadpool & Wolverine during the end credits alongside the BTS footage. Well, this is not the only nostalgic track drop in the movie. From Reynolds’ Deadpool dancing to NSYNC’s Bye Bye Bye to the re-recorded version of Only You (And You Alone) by The Platters in the beginning, the soundtrack assembled a wide range of songs, much like James Gunn did with the Guardian films.
