Several celebrities from the film industry have come together to support the flood-ravaged state of Kerala. These aid relief efforts aim to rebuild the lives of those who lost everything to these devastating floods and landslides. The latest name to join this generous cause is actor Prabhas.
The actor donated Rs 2 crore to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help the people affected by the landslide in Wayanad. The landslide occurred on July 30 in several villages, like Punjirimattom, Mundakkai, Chooralmala, and others. More than 400 people have lost their lives, while over 150 are still missing.
A Fan Club account of the actor shared a poster on X with the announcement. The caption of the post read, “Darling #Prabhas donated 2 CRORES to the #Kerala CM Relief Fund to help victims of the #Wayanad Landslide. Man with a golden heart.”

The search operation has been going on for over a week, as more people are said to be buried under the soil. According to reports from the agricultural department, 310 hectares of farmland have been devastated in several regions like Chooralmala, Attamala, and Mundakkai.
In this case, the minister of the department, K Krishnankutty, has announced that the electricity bill will not be collected for the next six months in the areas affected by the landslide. He also said that about 1,139 consumers will benefit from this.
According to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, a few people are circulating false information, claiming that the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) lacks transparency.
In this regard, he said, “Spreading such false information during one of the most massive disasters the state has ever witnessed is entirely counterproductive. The contributions to the relief fund are deposited into an account under the supervision of the Finance Secretary. Without the knowledge and seal of the Finance Secretary, funds from the relief fund cannot be utilised.”
Meanwhile, various film celebrities and industrialists are donating funds to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help the people affected by the landslides. Before Prabhas, Chiranjeevi and his son Ram Charan contributed Rs 1 crore to the Kerala CM relief fund. Allu Arjun donated Rs 50 lakh, while Rashmika Mandanna contributed Rs 10 lakh to the relief efforts.
