When Ayesha Shroff Wrote To Jackie Shroff's Girlfriend In US Before Marrying Him

Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff often makes headlines for his acting skills and bold persona. Recently, he has been gaining traction among the audience for his iconic love story. Jackie Shroff and Ayesha Shroff tied the wedding knot after a prolonged courtship in 1987. Before marriage, the couple shared a loving relationship which Ayesha’s family disapproved of.

During a recent conversation with his daughter Krishna Shroff on her YouTube channel, Jackie compared his love story to a Bollywood film. Ayesha, hailing from a rich family, found love in an unexpected place. She met Jackie Shroff, a local boy from the Teen Patti area for the first time where he used to live in a chawl. She was 13 years old when she caught the eye of Jackie Shroff. During their first meeting, Jackie approached her and introduced himself casually. He mentioned playing with friends nearby and that’s how their first meeting unfolded.

In a previous conversation with Simi Garewal, Jackie Shroff shared about his wife Ayesha Shroff’s love for him. He shared an anecdote when Ayesha expressed her willingness to live with his US-based ex-girlfriend. The situation unfolded when Jackie’s ex-girlfriend, residing in the US, decided to return.

Jackie met Ayesha, fell in love, and confided in her about his feelings for the girl in the US. Ayesha subsequently wrote a letter to his ex-girlfriend, suggesting that after her return, they could live like sisters and marry Jackie.

Reflecting on that period, Ayesha expressed, “I don’t know what I was thinking. I can’t believe I did that, but I did. The thing was, I just wanted this guy…If there was a choice between losing him and keeping him with her, it is as simple as that.”

Jaggu Dada, popularly known as Jackie, has a remarkable career spanning over four decades in the film industry. With a filmography featuring more than 220 movies, he made his debut in the 1982 release Swami Dada. Over the years, Jackie has delivered stellar performances in films such as Hero, Ram Lakhan, 1942: A Love Story, Rangeela, and many others.

The couple has two children, a daughter Krishna Shroff and a son Tiger Shroff.
