Despite limited scenes, Bobby Deol left a mark with his performance in Animal. From his impressive entry to his intense fight scene with Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby had the spotlight on him. However, there was one scene that had Bobby emotional. In the film, midway into his third wedding in the movie, Bobby’s character Abrar learns the news of his brother’s death. He is seen getting angry and emotional at the same time. Speaking about the scene, Bobby revealed he imagined losing his brother, Sunny Deol to ignite a realistic reaction and added that the scene was approved in one take.
“When I was doing the scene in the film, it was about a brother who has lost his brother… As actors, we use incidents in our lives to bring that emotion. We have a bank full of them. My brother means the world to me. When I was performing that scene, it was as if I’ve actually lost my brother. And that’s why, when I was emoting, it felt real,” he told iDream Media.
“That’s why everybody felt that moment. We didn’t do more than one take. In fact, Sandeep came up to me after that shot, and he was like, ‘Sir, this is an award-winning shot’. I was like, ‘Wow, thank you so much Sandeep, coming from you, it means a lot,’” he said.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Bobby confessed he cried when he watched Dharmendra’s character die in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. “When I was watching the film, I did not know the story. My dad’s character dies in it and I couldn’t see the film. I was at Karan Johar’s trial and I couldn’t stop crying because my father somehow, I just couldn’t handle it and I left and won’t see the ending of the film.”
Animal is doing impressive business at the box office. As of December 12, the film has collected Rs 737.98 crore worldwide in less than two weeks.
