Deadpool 3: Ryan Reynolds Teases Important Location In Cryptic Picture From Sets

Updates about Deadpool 3 have been keeping fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) on their toes. Last year, leaked pictures from Deadpool 3 sets went viral, sparking debates about the film’s possible characters and plot. Ryan Reynolds who will reprise his role in the sequel requested social media users to refrain from circulating the photographs online so as not to spoil the “magic” of the film’s theatrical release. Now that the Shawn Levy directorial is nearing the release date, Ryan Reynolds has made an indirect revelation about Deadpool 3. Taking to his Instagram stories, the actor hinted at his pairing with Wolverine star Hugh Jackman at a Marvel-relevant location.

Without adding any caption, Ryan Reynolds shared a black-and-white picture of two chairs kept against the background of a jungle-like setting. The names Logan and Wade Wilson were emblazoned on the chairs. While Hugh Jackman essayed the role of Logan in the Wolverine film franchise, the name of Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool character is Wade Wilson. Reynolds credited Shawn Levy for clicking the cryptic shot.

According to reports, the picture underlines the theory that Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson and Hugh Jackman’s Logan could be heading to Savage Land. First appearing as a location in 1941’s Marvel Mystery Comics 22, the Savage Land is a prehistoric coastal world tucked away within Antarctica. It gained popularity in 1965’s X-Men 10. The Savage Land, which was created by a member of the Beyonders, has grown to be a popular place in the MCU. It is home to several human tribes and dinosaurs, including the beloved superhero Ka-Zar. The place is also widely recognised from the X-Men comics, where Magneto and other team members have lived for extended periods.

Movie enthusiasts got a glimpse of Savage Land in the 2022 film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The picture featuring a cornfield also bears a striking resemblance to a farm that made an appearance in the 2017 Hugh Jackman-led film Logan. It was the same spot where Wolverine, Professor X, and X-23 sought shelter to escape the eyes of X-24. If both the locations turn out to be similar, then Deadpool 3 can have a reference to the Time Variance Authority (TVA).

After the SAG-AFTRA strike in Hollywood, Deadpool 3 resumed shooting in November last year in the United Kingdom. The film also stars Morena Baccarin, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Matthew Macfadyen, and Emma Corrin among others. The action entertainer will hit the US big screens on July 26.
