The popular sitcom, created by Christopher Lloyd and Steven Levitan, followed the lives of the Pritchett-Dunphy-Tucker family.

On-screen families have a unique ability to resonate with audiences. One such sitcom family is that of the popular sitcom Modern Family. Despite the conclusion of the show, the Dunphy-Pritchett-Tucker family has managed to maintain their close bonds beyond the screen, which is evident through their active presence on social media platforms. Recently, Sofia Vergara had a fun get-together with her old co-stars from the show, marking what she referred to as the “first Modern Family reunion.” The reunion photos of the cast have garnered significant attention, with fans hailing it as a heartwarming moment.

However, fans also observed the absence of Ty Burrell, the actor who portrayed Phil Dunphy, in the show. In a creative solution, the family opted to honour Burrell by including a framed photo of him wearing his headphones, at the reunion. This framed picture not only made its way into the cast reunion photo, but the cast members also shared a video where they raised a toast to the photo displayed on the mantle, expressing they missed him.

The portrait also features series creators Christopher Lloyd and Steve Levitan. Jesse Tyler Ferguson, known for his portrayal of Mitchell Pritchett throughout the 11 seasons of the show, took to Instagram to share some more photos from the reunion. One photo showcased the entire Dunphy clan, excluding Burrell, with familiar faces such as Julie Bowen (Claire), Sarah Hyland (Haley), Ariel Winter (Alex), and Nolan Gould (Luke).

Another set of pictures highlighted the Pritchetts— Vergara (Gloria), Ed O’Neill (Jay), and Rico Rodriguez (Manny). However, a later addition to the family, Jeremy Maguire, who played toddler Joe, was notably absent.

Additionally, Ferguson shared a photo featuring himself with his on-screen daughter from Modern Family, Aubrey Anderson-Emmons (Lily), and his on-screen husband, Eric Stonestreet (Cam). In his post, Ferguson described the reunion as “nearly perfect.”

Modern Family, created and produced by Levitan and Lloyd, made its debut in 2009, depicting the lives of three diverse families residing in suburban Los Angeles. The show quickly gained popularity, featuring beloved characters that earned it 22 Emmys, including five for Outstanding Comedy Series. Since the show’s conclusion in 2020, the entire cast has continued to maintain a close relationship, frequently sharing updates and moments from their mini-family reunions on social media.
