According to reports, it is believed that the first choice by the makers for the Chak De India movie was Salman Khan but he rejected it due to some reasons. Similarly, there have been many movies in Bollywood in which the lead actors were not the first choice of makers. One of them was Sooryavansham.
As per reports, Sooryavansham was rejected by the 13 actors before it was accepted by the superstar Amitabh Bachchan. Apart from him, Anupam Kher, Soundarya, Jayasudha, Kader Khan and Rachna Banerjee played prominent roles in the film. It is surprising to know that this movie was rejected by 13 actors before its production. Each actor cited their reasons ranging from script issues to schedule problems.
According to reports, the actors who were offered the movie include Govinda, Mithun Chakraborty, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Sunil Shetty and Saif Ali Khan. The role of Heera Thakur was offered to them.
Sooryavansham later became one of the most-watched movies on television. The dual role of Amitabh Bachchan was widely loved by the audience and critics after it came on television. It was directed by EVV Satyanarayana. Even though the film opened to positive reviews from the audience, it ended up being a box office failure.
The movie was the official remake of the Tamil film Suryavamsam which was directed by Vikraman. Sooryavansham gained massive success after it was released on TV. It can be usually seen on the Sony Max channel. It became one of the classic movies of Bollywood with time.
