The frenzy behind Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan has gripped the entire nation. Amid much wait and anticipation, the film is finally out in the theatres and the videos of fans rejoicing across the country are going viral on social media. Witnessing the craze behind SRK’s mass pull, Amitabh Bachchan recalled the day his film Shahenshah released and how fans thronged to theatres in large numbers.
Taking to his X handle, Amitabh Bachchan reposted a netizen’s update about Jawan and the euphoria surrounding it. The post read, “While #Jawaan is generating excitement, a few decades ago a film had unprecedented craze! 20000 people thronged to the first show! SIMULTANEOUS video had 5 day advance booking! 7am shows were added. Video parlours were screening the film! Shahenshah! #AmitabhBachchan #bollywood.” Reacting to this post, Big B penned,

Amitabh Bachchan’s powerful stint in Shahenshah is one of the actor’s most memorable roles. The 1988 movie was nothing short of a blockbuster, where the superstar portrayed both a cop and a vigilante who hunts down criminals. His portrayal of the latter with grey hair and a steel arm became an instant hit with the audience.
Meanwhile, Jawan has already created a history at the box office as the film has sold more than one million tickets in India. If advance sales are anything to go by, Jawan has earned over Rs 37 crores gross globally. Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu sent his best wishes to SRK for the release of Jawan and said that he’d be watching the movie in a theatre with his family. Jawan is likely to feature special cameos by South superstars Thalapathy Vijay and Allu Arjun of Pushpa fame.
Jawan is a Red Chillies Entertainment presentation directed by Atlee, produced by Gauri Khan, and co-produced by Gaurav Verma. The film releases worldwide today in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.
