The Union Cabinet on Wednesday, October 18, approved a hike in minimum support prices (MSPs) for 6 rabi crops. The MSP of tilhan and mustard has been increased by Rs 200 per quintal, masoor by Rs 425 per quintal, wheat by Rs 150 per quintal, barley by 115 per quintal, sunflower by Rs 150 per quintal, and gram by 105 per quintal.
Briefing about the Cabinet decisions today, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said, “The Modi government is committed to raise the farmers’ income by 1.5 times. The MSP for 6 rabi crops this year is higher as compared with last year… The MSP is hiked on the basis of CACP recommendation.”
