ICC ODI World Cup 2023: Rachin Ravindra Overtakes Virat Kohli in Golden Bat Race, Adam Zampa Tops Golden Ball List
Rachin Ravindra has surpassed Virat Kohli in the golden bat race, whereas Adam Zampa reclaimed top spot in the World Cup golden ball tally.

New Zealand youngster Rachin Ravindra continues to shine, the 23-year-old leapfrogged over Virat Kohli to jump to second place in the ODI World Cup 2023 golden bat race. South Africa opener Quinton de Kock continues to sit pretty atop the leading run scorers tally, with Ravindra behind him and Kohli in third place.

The Kiwi-opener slammed a century against Pakistan on Saturday, his third in the ongoing World Cup but it was not enough to salvage a win for his side, who suffered their fourth loss in a row.

Elsewhere, Australia’s 33-run win over England saw the defending champions crash out of the World Cup, while Adam Zampa reclaimed the top spot in the Golden Ball list.

Quinton de Kock has been in red-hot form this World Cup, he is leading the race for the World Cup Golden Bat having scored 545 runs in seven outings. Hot on his tail is Ravindra who has amassed 523 runs in his maiden World Cup appearance in 8 matches. Former Indian captain Virat Kohli is third with 442 runs in seven games ahead of India’s meeting with South Africa on Sunday.

Australian opener David Warner is fourth on the list with 428 runs, whereas Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is in fifth place with 402 runs under his belt.

Kiwi middle-order batter Daryl Mitchell is sixth with 375 runs to his name, whereas Aiden Markram is next in line with 362 runs scored so far in the tournament. Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan slammed 359 runs and is eighth on the list, Rassie van der Dussen is ninth with 353 runs to his name, while Abdullah Shafique rounds off the top ten having scored 336 runs.

Meanwhile, Zampa picked up three wickets against England to reclaim top spot in Golden Ball race with 19 scalps to his name. Dilshan Madushanka is second having picked up 18 wickets, Shaheen Shah Afridi meanwhile is third with 16 wickets, he is level with Marco Jansen who also has registered 16 dismissals so far.

Indian pace duo of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami are fifth and sixth respectively with 15 and 14 wickets to their names, while Mitchell Santner is in seventh place with his 14 wickets.

South African pacer Gerald Coetzee is eighth having picked up 14 wickets, and he is followed by Pakistan’s Harris Rauf who has registered 13 dismissals. Matt Henry rounds the top ten with 11 successes to his name.
