Mahindra & Mahindra introduces Bolero Neo+ Ambulance, compliant with AIS:125 regulations, priced at Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

Mahindra & Mahindra, one of India’s premier Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) manufacturers, has launched the Bolero Neo+ Ambulance.

The Bolero Neo+ Ambulance is priced at Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom), with a government e-Marketplace (GeM) price of Rs 12.31 lakh (ex-showroom). The Neo+ is designed to completely comply with the AIS:125 (Part 1) rules that govern the Type B Ambulance segment.

Mahindra Bolero Neo+ Ambulance: Engine

The Bolero Neo+ Ambulance is built on the Neo platform and its Gen-3 chassis. The vehicle is powered by a 2.2-litre mHawk engine that produces 120 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. The engine is connected with a 6-speed manual gearbox that gives power to the rear wheels. The same engine is used in the Mahindra Thar, Scorpio-N, XUV 700, and Scorpio Classic, although each unit is tuned differently to create more power.

Mahindra Bolero Neo+ Ambulance: Features And Design

The Neo+ is built on the same platform as the Bolero Neo, which debuted in 2021, but it has a longer wheelbase. It also gets body-on-frame construction, and Mahindra claims that the Neo+ outperforms smaller van-based options and is more practical and efficient than larger coach-based ambulances.

The Ambulance has a single-person stretcher mechanism, an oxygen cylinder provision, a washbasin assembly for cleanliness, and a public address system. The Bolero Neo+ Ambulance has a D+4 seating configuration and an air-conditioned cabin.

Despite its larger wheelbase, the Bolero Neo+ Ambulance remains a compact and drivable vehicle for easy navigation in city traffic, and its high ground clearance makes it suited for tough terrains, as per Mahindra.

The Police, Army, and Paramilitary forces, as well as government agencies involved in firefighting, forestry, irrigation, and public works, have all relied on Bolero-badged SUVs for their robustness and performance in a variety of operational conditions, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd CEO – Automotive Sector, Gollagunta added.

In terms of usefulness and efficiency, the Bolero Neo+ Ambulance beats compact van-based vehicles and large coach-based ambulances.
