The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has extended the online registration deadline for  Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya lateral entry admissions to Classes 9 and 11 for the academic year 2024–25. As per the latest updates, the last date to submit the application forms is November 7. Earlier, the deadline for lateral entry admission was October 31. Students can apply for JNVST Class 9 and 11 lateral entry admission by visiting the official website at navodaya.gov.in.

Eligible candidates will be selected based on their performance in the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Lateral Entry Selection Test (LEST). According to the schedule, the Lateral Entry Selection Test for Classes 9 and 11 will be held on February 10, 2024.

NVS Admission 2024: Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications:

To be eligible for Class 11 admission to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV), students must have cleared their Class 10 exam from a Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)-affiliated school, state board, or other recognised board during the 2023–24 academic year.

For Class 9 admission, the eligibility criteria are restricted to those who are bona fide residents and are currently enrolled in Class 8 at one of the Government or Government-recognised schools within the district where a JNV is located.

Age Requirements:

Students applying for Class 11 admission must be a minimum of 15 years old and should not exceed 17 years old. (Meaning: the students should have been born between June 1, 2007, and July 31, 2009). Meanwhile, for NVS Class 9 admission, students’ birth dates should fall between May 1, 2009, and July 31, 2011.

NVS Admission 2024: Steps To Apply

Step 1: Visit the official website of NVS at navodaya.gov.in.

Step 2: On the homepage, look for and click on the JNV Class 9 or 11 Admission 2024 link.

Step 3: On the new page, click on the registration option.

Step 4: Then register yourself by entering all the information needed.

Step 5: Log in using the credentials and fill out the application form.

Step 6: To complete the process, pay the application fee.

Step 7: Cross-check all the details and submit the form.

It is important to note that candidates will have to upload their photo, signature, and parent’s signature in jpg or jpeg format. In addition, the file size of the above documents should be between 10kb and 100 kb.

The NVS lateral entry test will be conducted for a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes. The exam will be held from 11 AM to 1:30 PM. Students will have to attempt five sections with objective-type questions. An additional 15 minutes will be given to students for reading the instructions and questions from 10:45 AM to 11 AM. However, an extra time of 50 minutes will be permitted for differently-abled students.
