Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing a mega public rally in the poll-bound Madhya Pradesh today, September 26. Several schools in Bhopal have decided to remain for today considering students might face difficulty reaching schools due to heavy traffic because of the rally. All exams have been postponed as well, reported Mint. However, there has been no official order from the education department directing schools to remain closed.
Around 10 lakh party workers are expected to gather at Bhopal’s Jamboree Maidan today according to state BJP president V D Sharma. The event is being organised on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the BJP’s fore-founder Deen Dayal Upadhyay today. The mega rally is being held to mark the formal culmination of the party’s five Jan Ashirwad Yatras to reach out to the masses before the MP Assembly polls.
PM Modi is set to give mantras of victory to the workers before the Assembly elections. The BJP workers have further decorated the city with cut outs of PM Modi and BJP’s flags, while the security forces have issued an advisory regarding high alert. This will be PM Modi’s third visit to Madhya Pradesh in the past 45 days.
Around 4,000 police personnel, including 20 IPS officers have been deployed to strengthen the security system in the city, State Home Minister Narottam Mishra said. “Drone cameras will be used in the surroundings of the Jamboree Maidan where PM Modi will be addressing the Mahakumbh of BJP workers. SPG and NSG forces have already arrived,” Mishra said.
The BJP had rolled out five Yatras early this month, with party president J P Nadda flagging off the first one from Chitrakoot in Satna on September 3. The yatras concluded a few days ago and the BJP claimed to have received massive support from the people. Only registered party workers are allowed to attend the programme. Without registration, no worker can be part of the mega rally event.
