The Indian cricket team’s tradition to award a medal to their ‘best fielder’ in a match continued and there’s a new winner whom the team’s fielding coach likes to refer to as ‘Professor’.
India fielding coach T Dilip found another unique way to announce the winner, using a buggy cam that scanned the three contenders including captain Rohit Sharma, allrounder Ravindra Jadeja and wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul before revealing the medallist.
The cam stopped at Rohit following which the likes of Ishan Kishan, Shubman Gill, Kuldeep Yadav broke into wild celebrations as the players mobbed their skipper.

“Here comes the important one, I call him the professor because he is tactically gun on getting the fielders at right position,” Dilip said earlier while revealing the third candidate for the fielding medal.
“One year back, as a team, we found some philosophies. One important thing was putting our body on the line. If anyone comes as a first example, it’s a captain,” he added.
Rohit seemed embarrassed by the focus shifting to him before Dilip invited the players outside the dressing room to announce the winner.
India recorded a another big win in their ongoing world cup campaign. They crushed South Africa by 243 runs to extend their unbeaten run to eight matches in a row now.
Virat Kohli starred with the bat, hitting a century as he drew level with Sachin Tendulkar’s record for most ODI tons in history. Afterwards, Jadeja spun a web around South African batters, taking a five-wicket haul to bowl them out for just 83.
With their latest victory, India will now finish the league stage at the top of the world cup points table. The Rohit-led side will next take on the Netherlands in what will be their final round-robin match before the semi-finals.
