Bhopal: From now on, students in Madhya Pradesh schools would reply to attendance roll call with ‘Jai Hind’, following an order issued in this regard on Tuesday.
The order would come into force with the new academic session.
As students respond to roll call in classes with different words, the state government, with an aim to inculcate a sense of patriotism among kids, has decided that students should answer with ‘Jai Hind’, read an order issued by Governor Anandiben Patel.
Last year in September, it was School Education Minister Vijay Shah who first championed the idea to instill patriotism among students. The idea was introduced on an experimental basis in Satna district in October last year.
Shah had issued these instructions at a divisional meeting of teachers, principals, Jan Shikshaks and block resource coordinators in Chitrakoot. The minister had earlier commanded schools to hoist the tricolour and make sure that the national anthem is sung daily.
Days after issuance of this order, Vijay Shah also asked madrasas in the state to hoist the national flag and sing national anthem daily.
The minister had added that besides religious education, kids studying in madrasas should be imparted primary education. A plan for introducing computer education in madrasas is underway, he said.
