BJP's Khanduri loses in Uttarakhand

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister BC Khanduri of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lost from the Kotdwar assembly constituency.

Khanduri was defeated by his nearest rival SS Negi of the Congress by 4,623 votes.

Soon after, Khanduri said that he was not in the race of Chief Minister's post.

"I had only 3 months and 14 days till the EC model code came into force. This was almost an impossible task. I have been able to be successful to an extent," he said.
