Kejriwal also requested TMC chief Mamata Banerjee to lend her support for a strong Lokpal Bill.

New Delhi: Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said that the CBI is not being used as an anti-corruption unit but a tool to run coalition governments.

Kejriwal also appealed to people to fast for one day in support of fight against corruption and strong Lokpal Bill.

"Are we living in democracy? Standing Committee ignored all demands of the people. MP's ask party high command for the type of bills and laws they want, the people's demand has no place. We want the government to ask the Gram Sabha for the type of law that they need and not the High command," Kejriwal said.

Arvind Kejriwal also read the Prime Minister's letter to Anna Hazare dated August 27.

Blaming Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi for the present crisis, he said, "The Standing Committee report has only heard what Rahul Gandhi wanted, to give constitutional status to Lokpal. This is to the high command, for the high Command and by the high command."

Taking on the political parties, Kejriwal said, "BJP used CBI to tame Jayalalithaa. Congress misused CBI in Babri case. Congress used CBI for Mayawati. Government does not want to let go of CBI. It is not anti-corruption unit, but a tool to run coalitions."

Kejriwal also requested TMC chief Mamata Banerjee to lend her support for a strong Lokpal Bill.
