'Have Learnt The Art of Coalition From BJP Itself': Akhilesh After Kairana, Noorpur Wins
Akhilesh said Samajwadi Party stands firm on its demand to withdraw EVMs and to hold upcoming elections via ballot paper.

Lucknow: After the SP-RLD joint candidate from Kairana Parliamentary seat Tabassum Hasan and Naimul Hasan from Noorpur Assembly seat registered wins, Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav slammed the BJP and said that people who are dividing the nation have lost in Kairana and Noorpur.

Addressing a press conference at Samajwadi Party Headquarters in Lucknow on Thursday, former CM of UP, Akhilesh Yadav said, “People who do not believe in democracy have lost today. I want to thank people of Kairana and Noorpur along with workers of SP, RLD and other parties who have supported our candidate. This win gives a signal for the new era of politics in India.”

“Also I would like to thank all the farmers who supported us on the issue of pending dues of sugarcane farmers. Samajwadi Party stands firm in its commitment to align other regional parties and to unite them under one banner. People who are doing divisive politics have got the reply today,” added Akhilesh Yadav.

Speaking further on the issue, Akhilesh said Samajwadi Party stands firm on its demand to withdraw EVMs and to hold upcoming elections via ballot paper.

“Today’s win is attributed to poor, backwards and sugarcane farmers, this is a win of social justice. The policies of Chaudhary Charan Singh have won today, none of the tricks of the BJP worked apparently. Our view about scrapping EVMs remains the same and we insist on our demand of conducting polls with ballot papers. The BJP government was lying on the issue of pending dues of the sugarcane farmers.”

On the issue of coalition with other parties and forming a ‘Gathbandhan’, Akhilesh said,“We have learnt the art of coalition from BJP itself. I would like to thank BSP, RLD, AAP, Congress and all other parties who supported our candidate. Today divisive politics has been rejected by the people.”
