The main candidates on this seat were Sita Ram Kushwaha (Bahujan Samaj Party), Rahul Rai (Congress). The heavyweight candidate is Ravi Sharma of BJP.
The BJP won this constituency by 8,080 votes in the 2012 Assembly elections. Ravi Sharma, the BJP's winning candidate, got 67,043 votes.
