'Jobless' Manish Tewari hits back at VK Singh, says has more work than an MoS
VK Singh has said, "Manish Tewari doesn't have any work now. I have written a book and I would ask him to read it. Everything would be clarified then."

Senior Congress leader Manish Tewari on Monday hit back at Union Minister VK Singh for calling him jobless and said he has more work than a Minister of State in the government.

"Saw General VK Singh statement on being jobless. Well Minister I know how much work MoS in GOI have. With god's grace have much more work than that," tweeted Tewari.

The war of words broke between Tewari and Singh after the former raised 2012 troop movement row and backed The Indian Express report.

Refuting Tewari's claim, Singh has said, "Manish Tewari doesn't have any work now. I have written a book and I would ask him to read it. Everything would be clarified then."

Tewari has stirred a controversy by saying that a 2012 media report on two military units moving towards the national capital -- at a time when there was a standoff between the then Army chief VK Singh and the UPA government -- was "unfortunately true".

"It's unfortunate but yes the story was true. I was serving on the Standing Committee of defence. What appeared in The Indian Express at that point of time was unfortunately for this country was correct," Tewari has said.

The report, published in the Indian Express in April 2012, said two key military units -- from the 33rd Armoured Division based in Hisar and the airborne 50 Para Brigade based in Agra -- were seen moving towards Delhi on January 16 that year without informing the government.

This was allegedly on a day General Singh approached the Supreme Court over the tussle with the government on his retirement age.
