New Delhi: The Raipur sessions court will on Tuesday decide on the bail of former Chhattisgarh chief minister Ajit Jogi.
Jogi who was arrested in connection with the murder of NCP leader Ramavatar Jaggi in 2003.
The matter comes up for hearing in the sessions court after a lower court on Monday rejected his bail application.
The bail, which was moved by Congress Working Committee working counsel Surendra Singh on medical grounds, was turned down by first Class Judicial Magistrate Praveen Pradhan..
Agencies report that a wheelchair-bound Jogi brought to the Chhattisgarh capital on Monday was admitted to Escorts Heart Centre after he complained of chest pain.
Jogi, who was arrested on Sunday at Gandai in Rajnandgaon district,
He was still under observation at the ICU in the hospital. The court asked police to keep constant watch on Jogi's health and submit daily reports. It asked police to present Jogi in court once he recovers.
Jogi's arrest came after a court here issued a warrant against him on a case filed by deceased NCP leader Jaggi's son Satish earlier this month.
Jaggi, then treasurer of the state unit of the NCP, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in front of a police station in this capital in June 2003. Satish registered a police complaint an hour after the shootout, naming Ajit Jogi, the then chief minister, and his son Amit as prime accused.
After the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power in the state, the Chhattisgarh government handed over the probe to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in December 2003.
