Kejriwal Defends 21 MLAs; BJP Says He Is Caught Red-Handed
Kejriwal reaffirmed that there is no conflict of interest and also asked what benefit will anyone get by disqualifying the 21 MLAs.

A day after President Pranab Mukherjee rejected the Delhi government’s bill seeking exclusion for the post of parliamentary secretary from the office of profit, Delhi CM reacted sharply to the allegations against the 21 AAP MLAs.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday defended the charges against his 21 MLAs of holding an office of profit and slammed PM Narendra Modi of playing dirty politics to malign the AAP government’s image.

"What problem does PM Modi have if our MLAs are willing to work for free of cost as Parliamentary secretaries? Our notification to them very clearly stated that they won’t get any salary nor special privileges?", Kejriwal asked.

Kejriwal reaffirmed that there is no conflict of interest and also asked what benefit will anyone get by disqualifying the 21 MLAs.

Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra attacked the Kejriwal government and questioned the Chief Minister’s audacity to attack the President’s decision.

"It is the EC and the President who is involved in the decision making. Why can’t Kejriwal wait till the final verdict is delivered? Why was the need to turn it into a political battle?"

Sambit added.

Patra further alleged that the Kejriwal government knows that it has been caught red handed which is why it is trying to turn it into a political slugfest with the Centre.
