The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) row seems to be spilling over outside the national capital. CPM MP from Kerala, MB Rajesh, has claimed to have received abusive calls over his Facebook posts on the JNU controversy.
The MP has claimed that he first got calls on his mobile phone. However, the caller started making calls on his landline number after he switched off his mobile phone.
Speaking to CNN-IBN, he said, "I received a call, was asked why I was supporting anti national activity. When I questioned, the caller abused me and I disconnected."
MB Rajesh had posted on Facebook over the JNU row, raising questions on who an anti-national really is. The MP has decided to file a complaint with police on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, slogans in favour of 2001 Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru were raised in a rally by students of Jadavpur University to express solidarity with their JNU counterparts agitating against the arrest of their leader Kanhaiya Kumar for alleged sedition.
During the torch rally brought from JU campus to Gol Park in South Kolkata by students of all faculties of the university, slogans like "Afzal bole azadi, Geelani bole azadi" and "Chhinke lenge azadi" were raised.
Other slogans like "Freedom from RSS, freedom from Modi government", "Jab Kashmir ne maangi azadi, Manipur bhi boli azadi" were also raised.
