Modi to reply to BCCI notice today
The notice includes allegations regarding the Kochi franchise controversy.

New Delhi: The ongoing battle between the suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is expected to reach a climax on Saturday as Modi will be filing his response to the show-cause slapped on him by the Board.

Earlier, Lalit Modi had sought time from the BCCI to reply to the show-cause-notice which includes charges of alleged violation of the BCCI agreement with Nimbus that supposedly covered the Internet rights.

Modi also has to reply to allegations regarding the Kochi franchise controversy, the share-holding pattern of the Rajasthan Royals team, and whether Modi has any financial involvement there.

Sources have told CNN-IBN that Modi's legal team has prepared a detailed response to BCCI's charges.

It is also learnt that Modi's legal team has prepared a detailed dossier that will bring up counter-charges of 'serious' nature against 2 members of the IPL governing council.

However, it isn't yet clear if Modi will press for the counter-attack on the BCCI today itself, or wait for some more time.

The good thing for Lalit Modi is that he will now have to answer only three charges that are based on actual 'documentary proof' provided to him by the BCCI.

However, sources in the Board say that Modi will find it hard to absolve himself of those charges.

What's your reaction?
