Modi had commented about PM's absence from work during his bypass surgery.
New Delhi: Congress on Friday night reacted sharply to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's attack on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for his absence from work after bypass heart surgery and said "nothing could be cheaper and more condemnable".
"It was sad to see a political pygmy like Modi criticise a stalwart with global reputation like the PM", said Congress spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi.
"He (Modi) has used indecent language and exposed his true face and character and that of BJP by attacking the PM even for temporary leave due to a bypass surgery," Singhvi said.
He said "nothing could be cheaper and more condemnable than such utterances of Modi and BJP.
