Mumbai Cong chief to be sacked over Koda link
The Congress decides to sack Kripashankar Singh for his alleged links to the ex-Jharkhand CM.

New Delhi: Mumbai Congress chief Kripashankar Singh has become the latest casualty over his alleged links to corruption as the scam-tainted Congress is keen not to hesitate in taking action against those facing allegations.

Sources said that the Congress has decided to sack Kripashankar Singh for his alleged links to scam-accused former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda.

Kripashankar Singh met party president Sonia Gandhi on Friday and was asked to step down.

Sources also say that CBI and Income Tax raids this week have gathered evidences of financial transactions between Kripashankar and former Jharkhand minister Kamlesh Singh, who is considered to be a close aide of former Madhu Koda.

But, sources say, Kripashankar will be removed only after an adequate replacement is found. His successor is expected to be announced by mid June.

Top contenders for the job are likely to include Mumbai MP Priya Dutt, central minister Gurudas Kamat and state minister Suresh Shetty.
