Naxals kill 3 policemen in Chhattisgarh
Three other members of a police team were missing, police said on Monday.

Raipur: Suspected Naxals killed three policemen, including an officer, in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district, while three other members of a police team were missing, police said on Monday.

Bodies of Assistant Police Inspector Sablu Bhagat, Havaldar Vidhan Tirkey and Constable B Topo were recovered from the forests near Dipla village under Bhopalpatnam police station area, said Additional Director General Ramnivas.

Constables Subhash Patre, Nandlal Kaushik and Narendra Bhosle are missing. All six were part of a police team that had left for Bhadrakali police station from Bhopalpatnam yesterday, he said.

Police suspect that Maoists were behind the killings, Ramnivas said, adding a team have been dispatched to locate the missing personnel, the top officer said.

Meanwhile, Bijapur district police officials said a jawan attached to Bhadrakali police station is missing for the last four days. A search has been launched to trace the jawan, Dularam Sodhi, they added.
