Politics of revenge? Now sore Maya vents anger on cops
34 policemen in whose districts BSP didn't do well given marching orders.

New Delhi: BSP chief and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati hasn’t taken well to her party's poor electoral performance during Lok Sabha elections in the state.

She has given marching orders to as many as 34 policemen, including police chiefs of 19 districts where the BSP did not fare well.

However, senior officials in Mayawati's cabinet deny that the transfers are a political or vindictive purge and maintain that they are merely an administrative decision.

Lagging behind the SP and the Congress in the state, the BSP, with its 20 seats, has been in damage control mode since last week.

What many are now calling “politics of revenge” began last week on Tuesday when Mayawati dismissed 100 chairmen, vice chairmen and members of different public sector undertakings.

She also dissolved BSP's frontal organistaion, the 'Brahmin Bhaichara' committee across the country.

Sources tell us that she might strip some Brahmin ministers of their powers as the Dalit-Brahmin factor seemingly failed to work this time.

What's your reaction?
