Pranab declines to comment on Mamata's ultimatum
Mamata had said that she would pull out of the UPA coalition in case of another petrol price hike.

Kolkata: Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday night declined to comment on Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee's ultimatum to the UPA that her party would pull out of the coalition in case of another petrol price hike.

"I don't want to comment on anybody's observation," Mukherjee told newsmen at his south Kolkata residence.

Mukherjee, however, hastened to add that the matter (Trinamool Congress's demand on petrol price hike) had already been "resolved" after the party MPs' meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Mamata Banerjee had served an ultimatum on the UPA that Trinamool Congress, the largest partner of UPA after Congress, would pull out of the coalition if there was another petrol price hike by Centre.

Banerjee's ultimatum came in the wake of her meeting with Mukherjee at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday.
