‘Rahul Gandhi Should Start A Gym, Tharoor An English Training Centre’: BJP Suggests New Occupation For Congress Leaders
Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar criticised the Congress leaders over their remarks on exit polls, suggesting they should pursue new careers following their defeat in the Lok Sabha election

Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Monday criticised Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Shashi Tharoor over their remarks on exit polls, suggesting they should pursue new careers following their defeat in the Lok Sabha election.

“Rahul Gandhi should start a gym. Shashi Tharoor should start an English training institute. The Congress party has many people who are very good with language and speak very eloquently and I think these elections will point them towards a new occupation,” the Union Minister told news agency ANI.

Chandrasekhar, also the BJP candidate from Thiruvananthapuram contesting against incumbent Congress MP Tharoor, added, “The people of India want their political leaders who serve them, who can improve their lives and certainly, this group of people whether that is Rahul Gandhi or anybody else cannot fit the bill.”

The BJP leader’s remarks followed Tharoor’s challenge that the recent exit poll results would be disproven on June 4, the day of the actual results for the 2024 general elections.

“Not just Thiruvananthapuram, I am also 100% confident that the numbers you have all seen in the Exit Polls for the nationwide picture will also be belied tomorrow,” Tharoor told the media earlier today.

On Sunday, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi slammed the exit polls during a media interaction, referring to them as a “Modi media poll” and dismissing them as the prime minister’s “fantasy poll.”

“It is not exit poll, it is Modi media poll. It is his fantasy poll,” Gandhi stated.

During the interaction, when questioned about the number of seats for the INDIA Bloc, the Congress leader replied, “Have you heard Sidhu Moose Wala’s song ‘295’? 295.”

The exit polls, released on June 1 after the conclusion of the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections, indicated that the NDA alliance led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to return to power for the third consecutive time. According to various survey results, many pollsters predicted the NDA winning over 350 seats, with some even forecasting over 400 seats.
