New Delhi: Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi will visit his Parliamentary seat Amethi from Thursday, his first visit after the AICC has started effecting changes in the state party unit to make it fighting fit ahead of the next Lok Sabha elections.

The two-day visit comes at a time when the party has decided to divide Uttar Pradesh in eight zones for strengthening the organisation in the wake of the party's debacle in the Assembly polls earlier this year. For each zone there will be a separate incharge who will work in coordination with newly appointed PCC chief.

The Congress leader would attend the district monitoring and vigilance committee meeting at the collectorate on Thursday morning, followed by inauguration of UCO bank and a public meeting in Bhadar area of his constituency.

Senior leaders, including Union ministers, are being given responsibility as conveners for different zones in a move to revive the party ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

Gandhi would meet party workers, distribute tricycles in Salon area and take part in a closed door workers' meet in Jamo area before leaving for Delhi.
