Repent, say sorry to PM: Cong tells BJP
Senior BJP leader calls Manmohan “a desperate rattling of a Prime Minister”.

New Delhi: The Congress on Friday said the BJP must apologise to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for its leader Ravi Shanker Prasad’s comments.

Prasad called Singh “a desperate rattling of a Prime Minister” who had "lost his sense of balance" and suffered from "selective amnesia. He was responding to Singh’s criticism of the BJP on Thursday night.

M Veerappa Moily, chief of All India Congress Committee’s Media department, said the BJP’s "highly uncivilised and crude attack" its desperation.

"The NDA is collapsing. There are no credible partners. There is a desperate search for issues and agenda," said Moily adding the attack on Singh was "not insult to one person but to the country".

Prasad had objected to the Prime Minister calling the 2002 riots in Gujarat as a "holocaust”, but Moily rejected the BJP’s statement.

“The BJP did not have the guts to make Modi resign and should not therefore talk of moral authority,” said Moily.
