Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Sunday warned Congress to desist from playing divisive politics and said it would not achieve its desired results. SAD secretary and spokesman Daljit Singh Cheema in a statement said, after failing to carry along senior party leaders with him in the much-touted mass contact programme, the frustrated Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa is trying to cover it up by issuing false and baseless statements.

This has exposed insecurity and nervousness of the Congress, he said, adding that it was funny to see Congress leaders talking of corruption, knowing well that it is the most corrupt party and numerous scams of UPA government stand testimony to it.

Cheema expressed surprise on the way Congress leaders are making statements against the e-trip system launched by the SAD-BJP government to bring transparency in the taxation system. Though people know there will be no additional burden on traders, yet Congress is misleading them.
