Kolkata: The BJP seems to be aggressive on ‘Mission West Bengal’. And starting early, it has decided to take on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in her home turf in Bhowanipore.

"On April 14, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will be in Kolkata to concentrate only on Bhowanipore. He will interact with the local people and party/booth level workers. He will spread party’s message only in Bhowanipore to gather more support for the party," said Basu.

Many notable individuals, including Shyama Prasad Mukherjee – founder of BJP - used to stay in this locality.

To keep the political momentum high, Rajnath's visit will be adequately backed up by BJP president Amit Shah on April 25.

"Bengal is a border state and it is important in terms of India's security. It needs a serious government and not the one who misleads people. In next Assembly and Lok Sabha election, I am sure people will vote for BJP," he said while adding that union textile minister Smriti Irani will be meeting party workers and local residents in North Kolkata.
