Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda on Friday accused the Congress-led UPA government for adopting a biased approach towards them and "hampering the development process" of the mineral-rich state.
"The national highways passing through the state were in pathetic state-of-affair but the Union government is not co-operating with the state government to improve their condition," he said after inaugurating a trade fair by CII in Jamshedpur.
"Such a biased approach from the union government raises several questions as the tardy pace of development is one of the reasons that educated youths are being diverted from the mainstream of the society," he said.
While others states were flourishing with the minerals supplied by Jharkhand, the conditions of its own people is pitiable due to the "biased approach" of the union government, he alleged.
In an attempt to put spanner in the development process, Munda said some people are trying to confuse people over the Chotanagpur Tenancy Act (CNT) and creating problem for the government instead of cooperating for an amicable solution.
Allaying fear, Munda said CNT will not be hindrance in the land acquisition process as the government has the right to acquire any land in the larger interest of the state.
