UPA on ventilator, has lost people's trust: BJP
The main Opposition party BJP said the Samajwadi Party must explain why it was supporting the government.

New Delhi: Targeting the government on the ongoing crisis over Sri Lanka issue, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday said the UPA was on "ventilator". "The government is on ventilator, why is the Samajwadi Party supporting the government, it has to answer," he said.

In the backdrop of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam withdrawing support to the UPA on Tuesday, the BJP on Wednesday said it had no plans to bring a no-confidence motion in Parliament against the government. "There is no need for it. The government has lost people's trust. It will fall on its own," BJP Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told reporters, earlier in the day, when he asked whether his party was planning to bring a no-confidence motion.

He said the Congress-led UPA government was surviving on borrowed support and its continuation was not in the interest of the nation. "Continuation of this government is not in the interest of the nation. This government, which is trying to survive on borrowed support from here and there, is definitely not in the interest of the country," Naqvi said.
