Tamil Film Lover Set To Make Its OTT Premiere On March 27

The Tamil film industry has been actively involved in producing content driven films in recent times. One such film that was released at the start of 2024 was Lover. The film starred Manikandan K and Sri Gouri Priya in the lead roles; it received a great response from the audience. Despite its clash with biggies like Lal Salaam and Yatra 2, the romantic drama managed to survive on word-of-mouth for its praiseworthy performances with technical aspects. Now, after impressing the audience on the silver screens with their performances, the film is all set to make its digital premiere soon.

There were many speculations regarding the film’s OTT release. Many, who couldn’t watch it in theatres, were eagerly waiting to watch it in the comfort of their homes. But the makers kept mum about it and revealed no information. Now, it has been found that Lovers is all set to make its digital premiere on March 27 on streaming giant Disney Plus Hotstar. The romantic drama will be streaming in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada with subtitles. The official account of Disney Plus Hotstar took to X and made the official announcement. They wrote, “Love is Battle, Love is War, Love is Growing up! ‘LOVER’ Arrives on March 27 on #DisneyplusHotstar.”

Lover is directed by Prabhu Ram Vyas and produced by Nazerath Pasilian, Magesh Raj Pasilian, and Yuvaraj Ganesan under the banners of Million Dollar Studios and MRP Entertainment. Apart from the leads, the film also stars Nikhila Sankar, Harish Kumar, Kanna Ravi, Harini, Pintu Pandu, and Geetha Kailasam in prominent roles.

The plot of Lover revolves around the lives of Arun and Divya, who have been in a romantic relationship for six years. But as time passes, their relationship is tested as they drift apart because of shifting priorities and personal development. The film delves into the difficulties they confront while managing their evolving relationship and explores whether their love can withstand such differences. In terms of box office, the film received a mixed response from the masses.
