Venky Re-Release: Fans Celebrate Brahmanandam’s Iconic Train Entry Sequence

Director duo Srinu Vaitla and Gopimohan’s 2004 film Venky was a superhit upon its release. Starring Ravi Teja in the lead, alongside acclaimed comedian Brahmanandam, the Telugu-language movie holds a special place in the hearts of the audience. Apart from the entertaining plot, it was Brahmanandam’s excellent comic timing that made Venky earn multiple plaudits. Especially, a particular train scene within the film is remembered fondly by the masses. Now, taking fans on a euphoric ride, Venky was re-released in the theatres on December 30, 2023. The frenzied response from moviegoers upon witnessing the popular train episode has now gone viral.

The short clip from Venky was dropped on Instagram recently, capturing the emotions of the masses. The film scene opened with Ravi Teja speaking with a fellow train passenger when suddenly Brahmanandam appeared on the screen. As soon as the comedian made his entry, the audience could not contain their excitement. They started cheering for the actor and clapping joyously. Hundreds of confetti and streamers were launched into the air within the dark premises of the movie halls, as people celebrated the iconic train scene. Some switched on the flashlights of their cellphones, while others were seen recording the unbridled excitement of those present inside.

Social media users reacted to the post in the most heartwarming way. While one individual rightfully pointed out, “Finally after 20 years he got the right reception in the cinemas”, another chimed in, “He (Brahmanandam) is not a comedian he is an emotion.” A third user took no time to label Brahmanandam a “legend”. “CEO Of Comedy World,” read another remark. Others dropped multiple red hearts and fire emojis, showing their admiration for the talented Telugu star.

The movie revolves around the story of a man Venky who after many unsuccessful attempts, finds employment in a police force. He and his three friends got selected for the SI training. While travelling to Hyderabad via the Godavari Express train, Venky meets fellow female passenger Sravari and falls instantly in love with her. But when she rejects his proposal, Venky threatens to kill her father and sister. Surprisingly, both of them are found dead the next morning, with Venky becoming the primary suspect.

Ravi Teja played the role of Venky in the film while actress Sneha essayed the character of Sravari. Brahmanandam slipped into the shoes of GK Gajala.
