Apple iPhone 15 More In Demand Than iPhone 14 Series; Pro Models Most Popular - Report
iPhone 15 series display panel shipments have seen a growth of 16% when compared to the iPhone 14 series panels from the same time last year, in October.

The Apple iPhone 15 series is allegedly more popular than the last two iPhone generations—iPhone 14 and the iPhone 13, as suggested by the display demand reported by Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC). Apple launched the iPhone 15 series, which consists of the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 15, and the iPhone 15 Plus, in September earlier this year.

DSCC notes that iPhone 15 series display panel shipments have seen a growth of 16% when compared to the iPhone 14 series panels from the same time last year, in October. And compared to the iPhone 13, it was up by 21%.

Furthermore, it was found that the maximum demand is for the Pro models—iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max. These models took over 65% of the display panels in September, post-launch, and went as high as 71% the following month.

With that said, it is Samsung Display that is making these panels primarily, and it continues to be Apple’s leading supplier of panels with an 81% share of the panels shipped in June-October. Other manufacturers include LG and BOE, but they reportedly have a minuscule share compared to Samsung Display.

It is likely that the feature-rich experience provided by the Pro lineup is contributing to the demand. Apple, this year, switched the iPhone 15 Pro lineup to a titanium frame and even introduced the new Action Button; coupled with improvements to the camera, especially the 5X telephoto lens that you get with the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the demand for the same makes sense.

Stocks have stabilized in recent times, and retailers are now quickly delivering units to customers. This is because the demand for the Pro models in India has also stabilized, following the black-marketing that impacted the stock situation in the country. In September, we reported on this, noting that retailers were openly demanding a premium above and beyond the MRP of the iPhone 15 Pro devices.
