Elon Musk Confirms Launch Date For Grok AI Chatbot: Only These Premium Users Will Get It

Elon Musk is ready to compete with OpenAI and Google with his own version of AI chatbot on X called Grok AI.

Elon Musk is gearing up to enter the AI arena with the Grok AI chatbot that will be available to select X users from next week. Musk shared the update about Grok AI via this post on X this week, and also talked about who will be able to access the AI chatbot.

He confirmed that to use Grok AI you will need the X Premium+ subscription which is the highest tier plan that X is offering in addition to the X Premium base plan.

Musk has talked up the Grok AI chatbot to be a better alternative to ChatGPT and Google’s Bard AI as it can offer replies to ‘spicy questions’ that Musk claims other popular chatbots refrain from answering. In fact, the team over at X had recently commented about its sense of humour which could be hard to digest for some users and they should avoid using Grok AI. Grok also uses the knowledge provided by real-time access via the X platform.

Grok AI is said to be in its early stages and it was promised to learn quickly and it seems Musk and Co. are now confident about the evolution of Grok AI which explains their decision to announce the AI chatbot for its premium users. Musk also pointed out that Grok AI access will be opened up in blocks of users based on when they signed up for X Premium+

X now offers three tiers of its premium plan that caters to different users and provides them with unique benefits of paying for the platform. With the basic plan you get the option to edit posts, have long posts, video uploads can be longer and a few more.

With the Premium X plan, you see less ads, get the verified badge, ads revenue sharing with X, access to Media Studio (TweetDeck) and more. And finally, the X Premium+ users get all these features, no ads on their feeds, and now access to the Grok AI chatbot.

It is interesting to see Musk spearhead the launch of AI chatbot, the same person who has warned about the influence of AI on the planet and how it is capable of leaving humans without jobs because of its advanced capabilities.
