Google is merging Android and Chrome OS to launch a new unified OS: Report
If the report is to be believed, the company will introduce the new OS in 2017, but will give a preview of it next year.

Google, reportedly, is planning to merge its two operating systems - Android and Chrome OS. According to a Wall Street Journal report, the company will merge these two operating systems and will come up with a new unified OS.

If the report is to be believed, the company will introduce the new OS in 2017, but will give a preview of it next year. Tech website The Verge also says to have verified that "Chrome OS and Android will combine, with a preview likely to be demonstrated at Google I/O next year."

The new OS, as the report says, will be given a new name and will run both PCs and Chromebooks.

It seems that the launch of Android-based convertible device Pixel C last month just hinted at what's yet to come.
