Google has officially announced the launch of its showcase Android Marshmallow smartphones - the LG-made Nexus 5X and the Huawei-manufactured Nexus 6P - in India.
LG and Huwaei said that the phones will be sold via online and offline retailers.
The Nexus 5X will be sold online via Amazon India and Nexus 6P will be available on Flipkart. Pre-orders begin today.
The phones are expected to be available in India later this month, most likely from October 21.
Prices for the Nexus 5X start at Rs 31,990 (for 16 GB variant) and go up to Rs 35,990 (32 GB). The phone will be available in three colour options.
The larger Nexus 6P carries a price tag of Rs 39,999 (32 GB) and Rs 42,999 (64 GB). It will be available in two colours.
The 128 GB variant of the Nexus 6P will not be launched in India, a Huawei executive said citing lack of demand for such high-end variants.
The phones running Android 6.0 Marshmallow feature fingerprint sensors, and include the newest USB Type-C reversible port for charging and output.
The all-metal Nexus 6P (first for a Nexus phone) has a 5.7-inch display, USB Type-C port for fast charging, a 64-bit processor, and a 12.3 megapixel rear camera sensor and an 8 megapixel front camera.
The smaller Nexus 5X a 5.2-display screen and the same 12.3 megapixel camera and Type-C port as the Nexus 6P. But it has a 5 megapixel shooter at the front.
