A few months after the launch of Windows 10, Microsoft has announced the first major update to its newest operating system. The update is said to bring improvements in all aspects of the platform and experience.
Among key improvements, the boot time will now be 30 per cent faster than Windows 7 on the same device, and Microsoft Edge will now offer a tab preview - which will let users hover over open tabs and get a preview of what's on those websites without leaving the page they are on.
This update also brings along Microsoft's digital assistant Cortana to Windows 10 users in India.

Microsoft Edge will also sync with users' Favorites and Reading list items across devices so they can easily get back to the content they are interested in most.
With Cortana, users will be able to use their device's pen to scribble a note in the Cortana Notebook and Cortana will recognise handwritten notes including the phone number, email address, and even physical address. "Cortana can also now keep track of your event and movie bookings too, sending you helpful reminders to know where to go and get there on time, plus the option to book and track an Uber," says the company. However this will be available only to Windows 10 users in the US.
With the new update, Cortana will now be available in Japan, Australia, and Canada and also India (in English) with features and experiences customised for each market.
With the aim to bolster up users' security and secure organisations from data breach, Windows 10's Device Guard uses Trusted Boot to prevent intruders from installing malware.
Microsoft claims that the new update to the OS also brings improvements to Mail, Calendar, Photos, Groove, Xbox, Store, and OneNote.
Besides, the company has also started rolling out Windows 10 to Xbox One. The company will soon make it available for select mobile phones.
If you are already running Windows 10, you will receive the November update according to your Windows Update settings.
