OnePlus 9 series is coming on March 23, alongside the company?s first smartwatch. Ahead of the launch, OnePlus has been teasing the OnePlus 9 series? features on its social media and its forums, with the latest one being about the display on the OnePlus 9 Pro. OnePlus has revealed that the OnePlus 9 Pro will come with an adaptive refresh rate that can go from 1Hz ? 120Hz. The Chinese brand is calling the OnePlus 9 Pro display Fluid Display 2.0, successor to the company?s Fluid Display, which came with the OnePlus 7 Pro.
OnePlus detailed the display tech on the OnePlus 9 Pro in multiple posts. The company has revealed that the OnePlus 9 Pro?s display will be integrated with Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxyde (LTPO) backplane technology. “A key breakthrough in display technology, LTPO dynamically adapts the refresh rate from 120Hz all the way down to 1Hz – lower than anyone in the industry – based on your content,” OnePlus said. The company said that the display intelligently and effectively scales power requirements resulting in power consumption being significantly reduced at lower refresh rates. OnePlus claims that it is the first company to achieve an adaptive refresh rate from 120Hz to 1Hz. However, it isn?t the first with an OLED display to have an LTPO backplane for a QHD+ resolution and a rafresh rate of up to 120Hz.

Apart from the LTPO backplane, the Fluid Display 2.0 features a QHD+ resolution, 10-bit colour depth with a billion colours, HDR10+ certification, and automatic temperature adjustment.
OnePlus also said that the OnePlus 9 Pro will support up to six times faster sync speed between the display and the processor for an improved touch response. OnePlus CEO, in a tweet, demonstrated the responsiveness in comparison with the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. The company claims that the latency in games has been reduced by 25-30ms.
Apart from the display tech, the OnePlus 9 Pro will come with Hassleblad-branded quad rear cameras which will include a Sony IMX789 sensor and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. The OnePlus 9 series will launch on March 23 and will include the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro. Nothing is known about a OnePlus 9E or OnePlus 9R, earlier reported to be a new entry level offering in the OnePlus 9 series. OnePlus will also launch its first smartwatch on March 23. The OnePlus Watch will be launched after years of speculation.
