Realme 8 Series May Be Launched on March 2, CEO Hints at 108-Megapixel Quad Camera
In a leak late last year, a smartphone with model number RMX3092 on Geekbench was speculated to be the Realme 8. The listing showed the smartphone with a MediaTek Dimensity 720 SoC and 8GB RAM.

Realme’s next smartphone launch could very well be the Realme 8 series, if a social media post from the company’s CEO is to be decrypted. In a couple of posts on Twitter, the Realme CEO hinted at a 108-megapixel camera, that is supposed to be featured on an upcoming smartphone. This smartphone, reports are speculating is the Realme 8 series. The Realme 8 series, if launched, will succeed the Realme 7 series of smartphones that were launched in September last year. Given a September 2020 launch for the preceding series, it seems quite early for Realme to announce a successor.

Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth, in a Twitter post, hinted at a 108-megapixel camera, that is supposed to be coming on a new smartphone from Realme. “Do you guys know what 108 means?” Sheth said in one of the tweets. In a later tweet, Sheth said, “Get ready to take the next leap in camera and photography. Can’t wait to tell you more about this breakthrough in our Camera Innovation Event, Leap to 108MP.” In this tweet, he also mentioned the launch date for the upcoming smartphone, on March 2. The photo Sheth included with the first tweet also hinted at a quad rear camera setup. Given the hints dropped by the company CEO, it can safely be assumed that the Realme 8 will feature a 108-megapixel quad camera setup.

In an even earlier tweet on Wednesday, February 24, Sheth said, ““Work never stops at #realme. I am already working on #InfiniteLeapWith8!”

There is no word about the Realme 8 series yet. In an leak late last year, a smartphone with model number RMX3092 on Geekbench was speculated to be the Realme 8 series. The listing had then shown the smartphone with a MediaTek Dimensity 720 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM.
